Spotted: Robert Lebeck @ LUMAS in Cologne

Yesterday I was the vernisage of Robert Lebeck at the Lumas in Cologne. His pictures truly deserve admiration and capture a certain spirit of the places he has been and people he met. The two pictures above are just an example. Moreover I think the way LUMAS puts them into the right light is breath-taking. To me the Lumas collections always have something mystical and sometimes when I don't pay attention I find myself in front of the gallery. It is true there is something about this show room that takes one in!

To my surprise I recognized a picture that thought was "lost". The thing is it used to hang there for a long time and was almost like the religious end of my stroll through the gallery until the day it disappeared... And yesterday I found it right back where it belonged. The depth of the see always draws me but it is said people either love it or hate it.

While Robert Lebeck was talking I spotted this girl with Mini Mouse in her arms and her father taking pictures. There was something about her... I wish I had been able to capture the moment better. 

Gestern war ich zu der Vernissage von Robert Lebeck bei Lumas in Köln eingeladen. Seine Fotographien sind wirklich bewundernswert, so wie die beiden oberen. Außerdem muss ich zugeben, dass es LUMAS mal wieder gelungen ist die Bilder ins beste Licht zu rücken. Für mich sind die Lumas Kollektionen immer etwas besonderes und wenn ich nicht aufpasse, stehe ich des Öfteren auf einmal vor der Galerie und frage mich wie ich hierhin gekommen bin. Dann komme ich natürlich nicht drum umher ein weiteres mal durch die Räume zu schlendern. 

Zu meiner Überraschung habe ich gestern ein lange "verlorengegangenes" Foto wiedergefunden.  Früher bin ich ab und an zu Lumas gegangen, einig um mir dieses Foto anzuschauen, da es mich durch seine Tiefe immer in solch eine innere Ruhe versetzt hat. Vielleicht liegt das am Meer oder an der Lichtkomposition, aber es macht jedenfalls einen starken Eindruck auf mich. Allerdings habe ich mir sagen lassen, dass sich bei diesem Bild die Meinungen stark spalten: Entweder man wird eingenommen -wie ich- oder fühlt sich verloren. 

Abschließend muss ich noch auf das Mini Maus Mädchen hinweisen. Sie ist mir mit ihrem Vater wärend Robert Lebeck's Rede aufgefallen und ich habe (vergeblich) versucht den Moment aufzunehmen... Es hatte etwas.
