Spotted: Fashion Bloggers, Why?

On Sunday I found this blog called "Fashion Bloggers, Why?" and it made me look at the world of fashion bloggers from a whole new angle. Before getting started though, I want to point out that I do not agree with everything sad on it, however, it makes you think about some behaviours we blogger came to accept as totally normal although any outstanding would ask "WHY?".

I am not sure, wheather the author Nati Hell (he or she? I think she) truely hates all fashion bloggers in general or simply those that put their outfits on the web day by day in order to fish for compliments, even though they don't really have a sense for fashion in the end. She already posted quite humorously about some well known "fashion bloggers" like The Blonde Salad, Fashion Toast, Chick Muse, and so on... and she truely hates Sea of Shoes. It is questionable wheather the way she displays her oppinion at times isn't too vulgare and by now the blog is already a bit outdated as well, however she has a point!

WHY would someone open a fashion blog? Because he or she works in fashion and wants to share the experience and daily life? Because the people think they got style? Because they think they got money and thus money & labels = style & fashionable? Because they are simply fishing for compliments? Because they are calling for attention and want to be sponsored? Or do they want to make a fashion statement although there is none replying to the posts?
ADD on reasons: "I need somewhere to let out my obsession" (Fransesca) - haha love it

This made me think. Also about my intentions and this blog of course, because I have already posted some outfits, too. I have to admit it is fun posting your outfits and getting replies. It makes you feel good (well but I never claimed to have any sense in fashion). Moreover I have to admit that before I started this blog I carefully scanned many blogs I found out that those where people talk about themselves are the ones that get most attention. Its all about entertainment in the end. Or does it come back to the good old turth: You pay attention to me so I pay attention to you (basis of all good friendships)? Anyway, I find it kind of frustrating, because I get the impressions the only reasons people answer your post is so you go on their page and post a comment. Isn't that what most people are after? Nobody bothers to write constructive comments (including me at times).

And is this what I really want?

I want to write about many aspects in life! Fashion is one, sure, but not the center of it! There is more: Traveling, Art, Photography, Reading and what is going on in the City/Country/World, Stylish people one has met, etc.

So I ask again, why would someone open up a fashion blog?

Since this blog is not merely about Fashion, but also other aspects of life I herewith want to introduce the Reading Corner to my blog. I am a big fan of reading (unfortunately I find much less time than I'd like to have) and thus I want to use this section for presenting literature and authors that have caught my attention.

Gentlewoman

Just recently this rose blazer found it's way into my wardrobe, there I go and almost stumble over this incrediably well written and researched article of Marzena from Les Mads. If you want to know more about the topic "Women in Men's afairs" go ahead and read it! (unfortunatley the entry is only written in German)

As for me, I am strongly of the opinion that a blazer belongs into the well-suited wardrobe of every lady, weather it be black, beige, red or blue. But we have to admit that there are fine differences in the design of men and women blazers. My new comer for example has riffles (correct?) at its back. But not only that, who doesn't dress ub like a guys (especially chic guys) once in a while? I just did in my last post :P

Gerade erst hat dieser rosefarbene Blazer den Weg in meinen Kleiderschrank gefunden, da stolpere ich über diesen wunderbar geschriebenen und recherchierten Artikel von Marzena auf Les Mads. Wer mehr zum Thema "Frauen in Männersachen" erfahren möchte, sollte sich diesen nicht entgehen lassen.

Meiner Meinung nach gehört der Blazer wohl in den gutsortierten Kleiderschrank jeder Dame, sei dies nun in Schwarz, Beige, Rot oder Blau. Oft merkt man (oder Frau) dann allerdings doch die feinen Abweichungen zwischen Männer- und Frauenblazern, über die wir sicher gar nicht so böse sind. An meinem neusten Exemplar lassen sich zum Beispiel hinten Riffel erkennen. Aber das ist ja nicht alles: Ganz ehrlich wer zieht nich gerne mal wie Männer, besonders schicke, an? Ich hab gerade erst in meinem letzten Post getan. :P

Color Splash

Ahh... today's post was fun, well at least picking the pictures and playing around with them was!! :) I think this is quite a nice summer outfit though I would have rather worn a brown (light or dark?) leather jacket with it. But I have non - so the cardigan will do.
Aaaaand WAIT for the next post about Gentlewomen and what xxx has to say about it!

Ahh... der heutige Eintrag hat echt Spass gemacht, oder zumindest das Aussuchen und Herumexperimentieren der Fotos!! :) Ich finde, das ist ein nettes Sommer Outfit, obwohl ich lieber eine braune (hell oder dunkel?) Lederjacke dazu getragen hätte. Aber die habe ich nicht, daher musste der Cardigan herhalten.
 Uuuund WARTET auf den nächsten Eintrag über Gentlewomen und was xxx dazu sagt!

First Days of Spring

Every year during the first spring days I realize how much I am a child of the sun! It gives me such an energy push. Suddenly the local park is filled with life again, you see happy faces everywhere and the city seems to wake up from hibernation.
So of course I couldn't stay away and like I promised in my last post, I will show you some pics I took. Enjoy the sun!

Coral, Glasses & Loafers

Like you can see, I finally found the sunglasses I was looking for. I had to turn the the whole city upside down and almost gave up before I bummed into the ones above! It was not easy, because sometimes the glasses were to light and I was soo keen upon the lower golden frame! 
The pic was taken in the park, oh the weather is so beautyful! I will dedicate an extra post for it tomorrow! 

Proper Introduction

All good things are three, so here we are: My proper introduction.
I'm Anne. 21. I am about to finish my studies in International Business in Cologne and I felt the need to express some aspects of my life in an own blog: Art, Travel and of course Fashion!

Aller guten Dinge sind drei, daher: Meine längst überfällige Vorstellung.

Hier bin ich also: Anne. 21. Und gerade dabei mein International Business Studium in Köln abzuschließen. Auf diesem Blog kann ich mich endlich über Kunst, Reisen und natürlich Fashion auslassen!
 

Spotted: Robert Lebeck @ LUMAS in Cologne

Yesterday I was the vernisage of Robert Lebeck at the Lumas in Cologne. His pictures truly deserve admiration and capture a certain spirit of the places he has been and people he met. The two pictures above are just an example. Moreover I think the way LUMAS puts them into the right light is breath-taking. To me the Lumas collections always have something mystical and sometimes when I don't pay attention I find myself in front of the gallery. It is true there is something about this show room that takes one in!

By now, I had been thinking about starting a blog for quite some time but always postponed it's opening. Now finally here we are:

The Traveling Lipstick is on!

First of all I need to mention that this is my first blog focusing on fashion, art, lifestyle and traveling. Somethimes I will be posting my outfits as well, however this is not going to be the midpoint of this blog. I hope that I will cope with all small and big adventures awaiting me with this project.
